Ever since the designs have been revealed by the legendary brand, the world has been buzzing about the Ferrari 458 Italia. This is probably because the vision behind the innovative new car is one we value most: it pays homage to its heritage and to its country of origin, Italy — the country whose unique values simply are creative flair, exceptional quality and highly refined style.
As simple as it sounds, it is just as much highly powerful and we love and fully endorse the style of the 458 Italia. World-champion Michael Schumacher, whom we have just heard was going to stop his retirement for Ferrari, has been involved since day one on the conception of this exciting new model.
Designed by Pininfarina, the car’s main attribute is its lightness, both aesthetically and technically. The design is a freshened up mix of Ferrari’s future and past, with influences from 458 Italia’s predecessors: the F430 and before that the 360 Modena.
In line with its fresh, fast and light look, the car weighs 3,046 pounds, which is indeeed a light mass when weighted against the car’s direct-injection 4.5-liter V8 (hence the name “458″). The car can instantly sort out each rear wheel’s max torque capacity which is ideal for turns and is an exceptionally high performer in a straight line too: 3.4 seconds to 62 mph and a top speed of 204 mph.
The 458 Italia will be debuting in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
