There is no doubt Bruce Weber changed the face of fashion photography, since his controversial Calvin Klein ads in the 80’s and 90’s, Weber surely has made an significant imprint that is uniquely his.
And celebrating his vision through the decades, Sundance Channel has just launched an online exhibition of Bruce Weber’s work; the exhibition, titled “Gone Fishing – A Little Journey in my Back Yard” is the first online exhibition of Weber’s work. Featuring his iconic photographs of Matt Dillon and River Phoenix, his extensive campaign photo shoots for the likes of Calvin Klein, Gianni Versace and Ralph Lauren, the Academy Award nominated short films, and his great directorial vision for The Pet Shop music videos (“Being Boring”, “Se a vida é” and “I Get Along”).
Every Thursday at night for the month of August, you can tune in to Sundance Channel for a different Bruce Weber film as the exhibition salute the filmmaker both online and on air, and on August 20th, Sundance Channel will host the World Premiere of Weber’s latest short film, “Liberty City is Like Paris To Me” accompanied by a series of photographs chosen by Weber from his forays around Liberty City, Florida.
