Legendary, iconic, beautiful, graceful… are all adjectives that very well illustrate what the world thinks of Linda Evangelista (DNA Models). Muse to the likes of Azzedine Alaia and Steven Meisel, appeared in one of the most celebrated moments of fashion colliding with music in George Michael’s “Freedom ‘90” video (and later in “Too Funky”), was prominently featured in Isaac Mizrahi’s “Unzipped” documentary … and once declared, “We don’t wake up for less than $10,000 a day” (referring to herself and the super models of the time).
And for the August 2009 issue of Vogue Italia, fashion photographer Steven Meisel shoots Linda for the cover (with the words ‘Refined Style’ in bold) and one of the most elegant and sophisticated ‘film noir-ish’ editorials I have seen in quite sometime, titled “Urban Decay”.
`Linda looking absolutely stunning in many of the fall’s highlights, and Steven Meisel’s photos are in glamorous old black and white yet with a subtle luminous quality to some of them. Dark and gloomy as if at the Addams’ house, yet sophisticated and alluring.
