Chanel Spring/Summer 2010: “Barnyard Chic”

In a world often seemed to be filled with unremarkable concepts, talentless celebrities and forgettable mediocrity, the wittiness and absolute genius of “the masterful fashion technician”, Karl Lagerfeld most definitely stands out against the rest for his Chanel Spring/Summer 2010 collection. The setting was in the “Barnyard of Chic”, where the most glamorous farm girls in Chanel signature tweed jackets and immaculate dresses roam about.

Karl Lagerfeld constantly showcases his couturier abilities in his prêt-a-porter collection for the legendary French house; suits with short skirts, jackets came in every style imaginable (befitting the eternal elegance that is always expected of Chanel), some were short, long, belted, loose, sleek, in signature white and black, also in beige and lovely ivory, very charming floral tailored short dresses, some veiled in gorgeous lace, hourglass shaped short dresses and high-heeled clogs…

It was a fun collection indeed, and one to be quite successful come next Spring.

The fashion show was filled with fashion’s most important critics and fashion enthusiasts like Prince, Claudia Schiffer, Rihanna and the face of Chanel’s “Cocoon Collection”, Lily Allen, who performed live in the “Barnyard of Chic” in a charming sequined Chanel dress.
