The Israeli beauty, Bar Refaeli, is a perfect example of all the smarts, poise and grace of the modeling industry that are quintessential towards her continuous fame and popularity the world over. Following on from an incredibly successful 2009, Refaeli seems to have begun the new year by continuing her flourishing streak.
Born in 1985 to an Israeli-Jewish family, she began her modeling career at the age of eight months, appearing in commercials. After a long hiatus from modeling in the formative years due to her wearing braces, she returned in front of the camera again at the age of 15 with a gorgeous smile.
Opportunities seem to have rolled up to this exotic stunner with effortless ease. Thus far, Refaeli has appeared in ELLE, Maxim and GQ (Italy). She has served as a spokesperson for the fashion brand Luisa Cerano, and has modeled for the likes of Brazilian clothing line Besni, Italian jewelry line Marco Bicego and more recently, Rampage. She debuted as a Sports Illustrated Model in 2007, appearing alongside rock band Aerosmith. Last year, she graced the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, while also having one of her photos from that shoot painted on the side of a Boeing 737, in a promotional deal with Southwest Airlines.
Refaeli has served as a brand ambassador for Moët & Chandon champagne, while also serving as the face of clothing line Hurley, and the P. Diddy cologne, “I am King”.
2010 seems to have started off on a very promising note, with her recent campaigns with Rampage and Passionata releasing to a worldwide audience. Having taken over the Rampage reigns from Gisele Bündchen last year, Refaeli has been the star of their advertising campaign for the second season in a row. The latest Spring 2010 campaign, shot by fashion photographer Gilles Bensimon, shows the 24-year old model in the brand’s swimwear, intimates, clothing and accessories lines.
Amidst all this glamour and frenzy, Refaeli manages to find time to tend to her philanthropist ideals by volunteering for Project Sunshine, a non-profit organization providing free services and programs for children facing life-threatening illnesses. She has also volunteered for organization Ahava, which has been caring for abandoned pets in Northern Israel since the 2006 Israel-Lebanon conflict.
