For Fall/Winter 2010, Creative Director of Burberry, Christopher Bailey presented the fashion posse of the world one major dilemma: which fabulous variation of the aviator jacket and accompanying looks do you want? I mean, they are all beautiful, every single jacket, coat, trench and parka is a fabulous investment piece that you will enjoy for years and years. Another great presentation of masculine outerwear mixed with lace and sheer femininity, from a celebrated designer and fashion house that basically know what they are doing, and they do it very well (and I’m not just talking about those killer python knee-high boots).
Speaking about his inspiration, Christopher Bailey said: “I was thinking of uniforms and cadet girls—but it all started when I looked at an aviator jacket in the archive. Then, as I started designing into it, I realized it could be as versatile as the trench—strong and sexy, masculine and feminine… And I really enjoyed it!”
Burberry took complete advantage of technology, and not only streamed the fashion show live on the internet, and in selected cities it was live-streamed in 3-D for invited guests in New York, Tokyo, L.A., and Dubai, but the new thing is that they provided a service of buy-it-as-you-see-it, where you could actually pre-order the clothes you want before they hit the stores, for a very limited time only… Now that is advanced!
