Mary Katrantzou Spring/Summer 2011 Collection: “Still Life: Window and Lampshade”

Since the beginning, the fashion industry and possibly every individual who saw her first collection knew this Mary Katrantzou to be an incredible designer, incredibly unique, creative and original. Katrantzou was inspired by the highly stylized seventies photography of Helmut Newton and Guy Bourdin, that made her realize the interiors were as important as the models in those photos. She then took back to back issues of Architectural Digest and World of Interiors to create this breath taking, genius and magnificent collection; you need to see it to know what I’m talking about. “With this collection, I wanted to put the room on the woman, rather than the woman in the room”, said Katrantzou, and very well explained.
