It is our great pleasure to introduce to you a great new up-and-coming talent, Achraf Amiri. The only way for you to understand what he does is by viewing the images below. We had the exclusive opportunity to interview Achraf Amiri to discover more about what goes on in his mind when he creates.
He dubs himself as the “hidden son of the Adam Family”, the 22 year old Belgian, studied graphic design in Saint-Lukas University in Brussels to become an illustrator of a different kind.
“When I start to draw, I don’t have a specific idea about what the result will be in the final. It’s all instinctive, all in the process when I try to create a new work” explained Amiri, furthering adding, “what are very clear to me are the concept and the critic that I want express. So for this I use only markers as medium so the lines are more direct and don’t give myself the chance to erase the mistakes or to make mistakes. (It’s a kind of self-competition). And for the slogans I use in my illustrations, the most are very direct sentences that come out of my imagination. The first title is for me always the best to write above my illustrations.”
While most of Achraf Amiri’s illustrations are derived from fashion, his inspirations also come from old Flemish primitive paintings, Symbolism and Art-Nouveau.
