Maje’s designer Judith Milgrom creates clothes that tell a story: a “fashion child” as she describes it. This F/W 12-13 season, Alexa Chung will be the label’s fashion child, and we think they couldn’t have chosen better
Tom Ford’s spring 2013 collection was a conversation between chastity and perversity. Our favorite looks are here, in seraphic white with bondage details, and another S&M twist
Obviously, Lana Del Rey plays a truckstop chanteuse on the prowl for daddies in her new 10-minute video for Born To Die: Paradise Edition single “Ride”. The cliches pour as easily as shots of Jack Daniels from the bottle as she swings on a tire over a desert expanse, waxes poetic about the open road and her fate of being the “other woman” and wrapping herself in an American flag—while she isn’t riding on the back of a sunburnt hog’s Harley Davidson

Coco Chanel’s first fine jewelry collection, “Bijoux de Diamants” debuted in the fall of 1932. To commemorate its 80th anniversary, Chanel has launched a high jewelry collection in tribute, heavy on starbursts and the designer’s spirit animal, the lion (Coco was a Leo).
Each fashion season, we see that street style photographers and bloggers are becoming increasingly important and influential, sometimes ranking among top fashion editors and stylists. Bill Cunningham, Scott Schulman, and Tommy Ton spring to mind. We can relate to and be inspired by real people wearing clothes creatively, more so than to the unattainable images in most fashion magazines.
Calling it possibly his “least uptight” movie, New York-based independent filmmaker Ira Sachs clocks the exciting spirit surrounding his most recent, critically celebrated film, Keep the Lights On. With the idea that cinema, ironically, allows us to see past the compartments that we choose to visit in our mind, and by showing us the imagined compartmentalization of others, Sachs’s body of work blurs those lines with purpose, playfulness, danger, and romance all at once. Having won Outfest 2012’s Grand Jury Award and the Berlin Festival’s Teddy Award, the film was also officially selected for deluxe screenings ranging from Sundance and Tribeca Film Fests to MoMA.
