Hey, Zsa Zsa Gabor and her colorful husband Frederic Prinz von Anhalt might actually be selling their Bel Air house, go figure. Real estate agent Christophe Choo had this announcement today on his website : “We just listed this home as the exclusive agent” ( the Wall Street Journal reported last night that a deal was coming). Back in January, everyone was making a big deal that the pair were selling the house, which Gabor has owned since the seventies, but since pretty much none of the info von Anhalt was giving the press was accurate, we had to throw a bit of side-eye at the whole thing.
The LA-area real estate market is basically showing no signs of recovery, reports the Los Angeles Times . April was especially foul, with sales down 9.2 percent from April 2010, making last month the lowest April for sales in three years . Home prices also dropped 1.8 percent to an average of $280,000 in southern California.
Long Beach’s Belmont Veterans Memorial Pier might finally start happening this summer after a years-delayed revitalization, with the AquaLink water taxi starting service to the site at the end of May. The pier is also getting a renovated restaurant, moorings, and new bathrooms to replace the old portables. The businessmen leading the effort “see the shoreline as a water park, providing a wide variety of boat rides with restaurants and other businesses profiting from a high-tide economy.” [Press-Telegram]
Teenagers in Koreatown are wasted , according to a survey by the Asian American Drug Abuse Program and the Koreatown Youth & Community Center, which found that K-Town high schoolers “consume nearly three times as much alcohol and marijuana as their peers nationwide.” Blame lack of parental communication and possibly also the neighborhood’s 550 liquor stores .
